Previous audio tracks keep playing after stop or skip to next

I have recently changed to Chromecast + Google TV on the four media setups in our house. Since then the following annoying issue has emerged when using the Android Plex player or Plexamp on my Android Phone playing to Chromecast:

  • Play an audio track
  • Tap/ click STOP PLAY or SKIP TO NEXT TRACK
  • If STOP was select the next track
  • The next selection plays as does the previous track - two tracks playing at the same time
  • Repeat the STOP/ NEXT or SELECT NEXT and the now the two previous tracks are playing plus the current selection.

etc etc.

The only way I have been able to the next selection on its own is to FORCE STOP on the player application and reload it. Not the most elegant way to play just one song at a time.
