Prime Time starts at 5pm, where is that?

I’ve lived all around the US over the years and have yet to see primetime start prior to 8pm. Is there a way to fix that? Maybe its not reading my TZ correctly and thinks I am on the east coast where at 5pm my time (PST) its actually primetime back there? Or is this a bug on the fix list?

Which client(s) are you using? This was changed to 8 PM in the next-to-last web hosted client.

To access it you’ll have to use the hosted version as https://app.plex.tv; the server’s embedded client is several versions behind and doesn’t have the update yet.

To search for things to record in the guide I usually use the web on a different pc. I see its corrected on that link you sent, but that seems to make me think my server is viewable via the internet? Not something I would want to allow. How do we update the local web client?

No, it doesn’t make your server viewable on the Internet; it only loads the web client. After that, it behaves exactly as the embedded version does. That is, it accesses your server locally and nothing is streamed over the Internet (assuming it wasn’t when you were using the embedded version). You can test this by playing something through the hosted web client and looking on the dashboard on the server. It will display Local, Remote, or Indirect, depending on where the server sees the client as being located, relative to itself.

The version of the web client included with the server is updated by Plex from time to time. It’s most recent update was just last week, actually. However, it doesn’t always get updated to the latest version available. This change will eventually make it into the embedded web client, but it might take a while.

How can it be that the new web build from December 15th still isn’t in the Plex Build?? Sure be nice if we could have Primetime be back to 8pm.
