It would be helpful if when I share a library with someone, that I could give them the ability to download what I’ve shared. I understand there is a copyright concern, but at the end of the day that is MY concern not that of plex.
That argument is very short-sighted. If Plex would provide an easy method to commit copyright violations on a massive scale, sooner or later someone would file suit for “aiding and abetting”.
If a shared user of yours wants to view or listen while temporarily being offline, s/he can already use one of the mobile apps or Plex for Windows/Mac to sync a few media locally – provided you have granted the right to sync/download to that user.
