Problem streaming 4k video only outside LAN network

Hi,
I’m running PLEX locally on my QNAP on my home network (I think I can’t update plex myself on QNAP?!), I use plex media server every day in LAN and all works fine.

The only problem I have is when I try to do streaming of a 4K video and plex client is ouside LAN network (in WAN connected to internet): video streaming stop often and it’s not possibile to have a good playback.

I tried to play a version with lower resolution, but it seems not solving my issue…

any ideas?

Do a speed test on your internet. Most ISPs limit the upload speeds which are not fast enough for 4k.

i have VDSL VODAFONE.

My Speedtest say always 30Mbps in UPLOAD: it’s not sufficient for 4K streaming?

No you can do 20 mbit 1080 but you may want to select a bit lower bit rate to give some head room.
