Unfortunately The WD Passport unit only supports installing public PMS versions. It does not have any mechanism for pulling down a Plex Pass version.
@streemz - that a very different issue than what is being discussed here. So, feel free to make a new thread - and ping me in it. Please post all your logs (Server, Scanner, and Plug-In) as well as a screenshot of any movie that is showing the issue and a screenshot of your agent order.
Thanks!
I just installed 1.1.0 for Linux and it has NOT fixed the problem for some TV shows. I get no titles from TheTVDB. Some descriptions come over, but not all. Some thumbnails work as well, but not all. I don’t have all of the episodes, which are indicated in the error log.
Hi @bethzur - I’ll need you to go through the usual steps:
- Shutdown PMS
- Clear your plugin cache
- Start up PMS
- Refresh one of the problematic shows
- Post your complete logs (Server, Scanner, and Plugin)
Thanks!

I’m understanding why new features are pushed to plexpass before public release, but bugfixes too ? really ?
Plex Pass members are sometimes test subjects for new releases. This prevents them from releasing more issues into the wild.
How mad would you be, and how loud would you be complaining, if the “fix” broke something else that was “indispensable”.
Here are the logs. I cleared caches per support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/202967376-Clearing-Plugin-Channel-Agent-HTTP-Caches
1.1 didn’t fix it for me…
I just added the Movie Database as a TV show agent (as it not has some tv shows indexed), and it matches the odd show, but creates a duplicate, so you then have to “fix incorrect match” on the old existing show and match it also using the Movie Database, then it puts all episodes back into a single show, but it is FAR from a good solution.
@maxflix needs to get his ■■■■ together if he is the one that broke it, and fix the damn thing before people start rioting in the streets!
@xrfr8 complaining about someone who works very hard on the Plex agents and metadata servers is not nice at all.
If you read back you can see @maxflix trying hard to help users that seem to still be having issues. I have tested PMS v1.1 first hand with a brand new server and it matched movies and TV shows just fine.
That said, I don’t doubt you are having issues, just that your manor is I no way respectful or constructive.
Please go through the steps @maxflix provided to the other user about clearing caches and then provide your logs here.
Hopefully we can then understand what set of actions or configuration is causing the issue.
Sorry @chrisallen but i have already done everything suggested and posted my logs to @maxflix via PM weeks ago, only to be told he forgot what the issue was, could i upgrade to the most recent version and do it all over again and remind him what the issue was.
I have been scouring the internet and have seen HUNDREDS of people posting the exact same thing. I don’t think the problem is mine. Maxflix came out and sad he stuffed the code up, and that’s great, good on him for admitting it, however that was 3 versions (and weeks) ago, and the error still hasn’t been fixed. THAT is not good enough, especially for paying customers, and THAT is what my problem is with.
If we are prepared to help with feedback and providing diagnostic information, the least that i would expect is a timely solution and frequent interaction, not to be left hanging in the wind and a half arsed effort.
I have the same problem @bethzur mentioned on 1.1.
The TVDB Agent tries first to download italian metadata (which are missing) and then it fallbacks to english one.
What I obtain is english metadata (which is good), english poster on season (which is good) but not general poster for series or episode.
If I go to the series menu and choose update metadata then the agent download all data (also missing poster are download and displayed flawlessly).
I’ve already clear my cache as per instructions.
Here my logs:
First download:
and logs after update requests on series page:
I’ve had the same issues as everyone in here, but I think I found something interresting!
Looking at the log of the thetvdb agent:
2016-08-20 10:24:31,161 (1edc) : DEBUG (networking:166) - Requesting 'https://tvdb2.plex.tv/login'
2016-08-20 10:24:32,190 (13bc) : INFO (logkit:16) - JWT Error: (<urlopen error timed out>) -
2016-08-20 10:24:32,200 (13bc) : DEBUG (networking:166) - Requesting 'https://tvdb2.plex.tv/series/292174/actors'
2016-08-20 10:24:51,132 (12fc) : INFO (logkit:16) - JWT Error: (<urlopen error timed out>) -
Changing from my ISP’s DNS server to Google’s 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 and everything is working again!
All I get is timeouts when using ISP’s DNS.
That’s interesting… I tried changing DNS to 8.8.8.8 and found no difference.
The forum is not displaying some of the info between the brackets, so my log looks the same as yours:
2016-08-20 21:21:34,549 (5c) : INFO (logkit:16) - URLError(SSLError('_ssl.c:489: The handshake operation timed out',),)
2016-08-20 21:21:55,334 (14a4) : INFO (logkit:16) - Content Error (<urlopen error _ssl.c:489: The handshake operation timed out>) -
2016-08-20 21:23:57,269 (5c) : DEBUG (networking:166) - Requesting 'https://tvdb2.plex.tv/login'
2016-08-20 21:24:18,028 (5c) : INFO (logkit:16) - JWT Error: (<urlopen error _ssl.c:489: The handshake operation timed out>) -
Seems like it’s definitely failing to connect with the url…
Edited as suspicions about forum not displaying some info from the log paste was confirmed…
Note: @xrfr8 and @DuffHQ I have enclosed your log snippets in triple backticks ``` so they are easier to read.
Perhaps I was just lucky Google DNS resolved to a responding IP last time I scanned… IP changes no matter what DNS you use because of load balancing or something I guess, but I’ll keep google running as default at this time and monitor when new items get’s added to the library.
Only thing I know for certain is that when I changed to google’s dns and tvdb2.plex.tv resolved to a different IP than my ISP’s dns, I got metadata all of a sudden and that hasn’t happend since the last 0.9 version.
Interesting update: Under Settings, Server, Agents, Shows, TheTVDB, I moved Local Media Assets down one (so TheTVDB is at the top.) I then did Fix Incorrect Match and it worked! I now have titles for all the episodes in that folder.
Hmm… I tried but mine is still the same. Log still says “urlopen error _ssl.c:489: The handshake operation timed out”
Yup, tried 1.10 again today, loaded up 2 new series. English library. Can’t find either of them, or any data for several new episodes it already had the series found previously for. Rolled back to 1.0.0 and bingo, they all show up. Both in manual searches or automatic works in 1.0.0 but not in 1.1.0. I’m concerned at some point I’m no longer going to be able to roll back to 1.0.0 from a newer version. I hope this is finally fixed soon.
Hi @Eurisko69 - can you either get me logs or at least give me the folder structure you are using for the show that don’t match?
