Problem transferring server from one Win10 Box to another

Old Plex version Version 1.24.3.5033
New Server Version#: Plex-1.35.1.2632-c6783c78-x86_64

Went through the steps to move the server from point A to point B.
Zipped the Plex Media Server folder
Exported the Registry files
Mapped all the media from the NAS to the same drive letters on the new box.
Installed Plex on the new box and it ran.
Sut down plex
Replaced the existing “Plex Media Server” folder with the old one.
Merged the Registry files.
Boot plex and it starts to open and shuts down.

One thing I have noticed that is different is the file structure of the old Plex to the new Plex.

Old Plex just had the Plex Media Server folder in the appdata/local folder
New Plex has a Plex folder in the appdate/local folder and the plex media server is in that along with cache, inputmaps, logs, QtWebEngine, mpv.conf.md, plex.ini, and plex.ini.XzaWXg

So is there a step I missed or what might I be doing wrong? I noticed that the version of plex I downloaded from PLEX seems to be a NEWER one than the one on my old server that says is up to date.

The old box was 1.24.3.5033, the new box is 1.35.1.2632
I have the 1.24.3.5033 file in my updates folder in the old server, should I try installing that instead of 1.35.1.2632?

It looks like you didn’t install PMS but the Plex Desktop player.

• latest public version of PMS is 1.24.3.*
• latest version of Plex for Windows is 1.35.1

Yeah, I ended up installing the 1.24.3 from the updates folder on my existing server and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks.

Few notes for people moving servers.
Remember to forward your server IP in your router to make sure remote sharing works properly.
Check the sharing for libraries. I have a few people I share with and one called and asked if the server was down when I knew it was up. Turned out that i was sharing nothing with any of my users. So I quickly had to edit them all and and turned sharing back on for libraries.
You may have to reclaim your server after you are logged in. Under general in admin, just hit reclaim and it will link this new server with your account.
