Unable to move server

Hello,

I’ve been trying to move my plex server to a more powerful computer and it’s just not working. I’ve followed every step in this tutorial: Move an Install to Another System | Plex Support

I’m transferring from a Windows 10 machine to another Windows 10 machine. I’ve gone through the steps about 5 times now and still can’t get it to work. After I copy the files and add the registry and boot the destination server it says that it updates the libraries but then when I open the web app from the server tray, none of my content is showing. If I navigate to settings it says that Plex Media Server isn’t installed, which it is. I can’t seem to get this to work.

Looking for help please!!

Before you copy the files and move the registry keys, you do need to actually install Plex on the computer first. Then you can replace the default server data/settings with your old info when you copy it over.

The Plex server WAS installed prior to the file copy. As I said, the instructions in the tutorial were followed to the letter.

is the plex.exe running? Can you zip the contents of %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Logs and upload them?
