Server not transferring

Hello,
Long time Plex user, first time posting. I am trying to transfer the Plex Server from one windows 10 PC to another Windows 10 PC (on the same network). I was following this tutorial, https://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/ but when it came to claim the server, it looks like a new server was created “T” where the old one is “V” and not available to claim.

Any help would be appreciated,

  1. you most likely forgot the Windows registry data.
  2. copy the Plex data folder while Plex server is not running on either computer
  3. after importing the registry on the new computer, Plex on the old computer must never be started again!

Thanks for letting me know that the issue was the registry. I was wondering why the registry entry seamed so empty.

I realized that Plex saves the registry on the CURRENT user,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server\

I had installed Plex on a non-admin user account, when you open regedit, it automatically opens it in an admin account and the admin account had a basic registry entry for Plex.

Once I temporarily added admin access to the old PC user account, I was able to copy the registry entry.
