Problem with Being stuck on "Recommended" versus "Library"

I mostly use Roku Ultra devices as my interface with PLEX. The same is true with one of my users. He is having problems with his PLEX Player not being stable. The main problem is that for every one of the libraries I have granted him access to, it always shows up as “No Content”. The cause is that each library defaults to “Recommended” (perhaps it is “Recommendations”) rather than 'Library". When he selects “Library” the content appears, but as soon as he backs out of that library the setting reverts to “Recommended”. His installation will not allow him to set it once to “Library” and have it stay there. This problem occurs with every library.

I cannot find anything in settings that would appear to resolve this. There is one option to “Reset Customization” (I think). Would resetting fix this problem? Or does he need to uninstall his PLEX Player and reinstall it.

Please advise. Thank you.

Did you, as the server owner, disable all hubs entries?

If your menu here has nothing checked for “Friend”, then it might show up as “No Content” when they visit the library’s hub. Though now that I think about it, the LEFT column is the one that displays content when a library is specifically selected, while the RIGHT column is for the Home hub instead… Ah, well, check to see if the left column has anything checked.

If that fails, You can try to “Reset Customization”, but I doubt it would fix your problem. It wouldn’t hurt to select this, but any settings that had been entered (such as to increase the client’s max remote stream speed, or which libraries are pinned to the left-hand side) will be reset.

If all this fails, you can set each client to default to the last-viewed tab for each library. So in this case, if they left the client on the “Library” tab, it will default to that the next time they select it. I don’t have a Roku to find the exact name, but it will be similar in description to the following:

On your friend’s player client, go into settings. Usually found by clicking a gear or wrench icon. On TVs UIs like Roku, you should see many rows of settings. Check each one for something similar to what I circled above.

In Settings > Experience, the first option you see should be “Remember selected tab.” With this option enabled, each library will remember the last tab you were on. So if you select the “Library” tab, then go to another library, or exit the application, then come back to it, it should still be on the “Library” tab.
