Problem with Remote Access to Plex Media Server using AirVPN

Server Version#: 1.32.7.7621
Player Version#:

Having recently upgraded my Windows PC to one running Windows 11, I am struggling to get Remote Access through my VPN supplier, AirVPN. This was not a problem in my previous Windows 10 installation.

I can access Plex without a VPN, both with the Webapp and the desktop app.

I have configured AirVPN to port forward:

But when I use the webapp or the desktop app, Plex says ‘not available outside your network’ on the desktop app

and is unable to be reached from the webapp

AirVPN have suggested that I should see an option in Settings…Network that would enable me to choose their VPN under ‘Preferred network Interface’ but I am not given this option. All I see is ‘Any’ and ‘Wifi’

AirVPN have said:

“Please contact Plex support at your convenience. Plex keeps binding to the physical interface and not on the VPN interface, so it can’t receive any packet from the VPN”.

I am not a ‘techie’ so would appreciate any guidance you can provide on making Plex available under Remote Access when using my VPN.

Update:
I have managed to enable remote access through the desktop app when using AirVPN by adding a subnet address to settings…network…custom server access URLs (http://10.7.194.148/:32400) thanks to this

However, https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#! still shows ‘No content available’ and is unable to connect to the server.
