Hi, It seems that my plex server can only be accessed remotely if a device has connected to my home network at one point. For example, I can take my iPad to another WiFi network and access my plex with no problems. But if I set up a new connection at say my mothers house, it won’t connect to my plex server (But I’m able to grab the code, enter it and the device recognizes that the code was entered successfully).
My internet is supplied by my apartment complex. We do not have a modem, but ethernet ports in each room. Basically, my router connects to one of those ports, which connects to the complexes network which appears to be another router. So I am unable to fix the Nat behind nat problem.
I’m curious why it works if i have connected it at home and then took it somewhere else. Is there any hope for being able to set up connections outside my network, or do you think I’ll have to always bring them here first?
Thanks in advance!
I don’t understand why it won’t connect if I set it up first from outside my home.
