Says No Internet Access, But it Works all the way from West Side to East Side

Server Version#: 1.24.5.5173 (i think this is right?)
Player Version#: 4.63.0 (i think this is right?)

So my plex server says in Remote Access that “Not available outside your network” and yet it works perfectly fine. I gave access to a friend that moved to the West Coast (I am East Coast) and she can access my server and play things just fine. I also tested on my phone using mobile data (turned wifi off) and it works.

I know this isn’t really much of an issue since it’s working, but I thought I would mention it here anyway.

That is what is going on.

This is how you can fix it.

I already found the Remote Access support page. I did everything it says to do, it doesn’t seem to help. When I click “Retry” it will say it has internet access…for about a minute, then it goes back to being offline, but still functional.

How is your network set up? From wall to server.

From Wall to ISP Box (At&t so I can’t get rid of their box without doing some form of trickery, I looked into it, super complicated and not really worth it) to PFSense (already port forwarded) to Router (receives port forward from PFSense and then Forwards again to Static IP of Plex Server) to Network Switch (unmanaged so everything just passes through) to Plex Server (static IP).

Is the ISP box one of those combo modem/router devices?

Yes. But its completely locked down, you can’t even swap to a different modem box if you want to, since At&t is technically a “phone” company rather than a “cable” company they are not subject to the same regulations as people like Charter (they are legally forced to allow you to buy and use your own modem). So there’s not much I can do there. I’m already doing everything I can…I think…

What I would suggest doing is looking up specific instructions for your particular model of modem and switching it into bridge mode. This should take care of the problem you are having. AT&T provides instructions on their website for a handful of models. If the site I provide won’t help spend a little time on Google with your model number of modem and you should be able to find a guide on how to do it. Or respond to this with your model and I will try to find directions on how to do it.

none of the models on that page are mine, also that is for “small businesses”, which i am not…the one you get as a normal Customer is the BGW210. As far as I know you cant put it into “bridge” mode or do much of anything else with it.

This seems to be directions from AT&T on how to set up that specific model in a bridge-like mode. Look it over and see if it also looks correct to you. If it does, give it a try and lets see if it fixes the issue you are having.
