Problems matching tv-shows

Hi There,

i have problems matching tv-shows. This was not a problem before. I switched to synology NAS 920+ with DSM 7
i build up my new server for plex. But matching does not work Its very frustrating.
I put everything in 1 show. Example Andromeda. But in this it put other shows like babylon 5
These are examples of my files but puts it all together:

  • /volume1/tvshows/other/Babylon 5 (1994)/Babylon 5 (1994) - S05/Babylon 5 (1994) - S05E01 - No Compromises - HDTV-1080p - h264 - EAC3 .mkv
  • /volume1/tvshows/other/Doctor Who (2005)/Doctor Who (2005) - S05/Doctor Who (2005) - S05E01 - The Eleventh Hour - HDTV-1080p - x264 - AC3 .mkv
  • /volume1/tvshows/other/Eureka (2006)/Eureka (2006) - S05/Eureka (2006) - S05E01 - Lost - HDTV-1080p - x264 - DTS .mkv

Your issue is not related to the thread but I can take a look next week, your season folders could potentially be throwing us off (should just be e.g. Season 05).

I posted this also in other topic with movies.
But matching does not work. I put everything in one tv show. All is messed up now.
This problem i never seen before. TV Shows match normally with my file structure No problems.

File structure

  • /volume1/tvshows/other/Eureka (2006)/Eureka (2006) - S05/Eureka (2006) - S05E01 - Lost - HDTV-1080p - x264 - DTS .mkv

Sorry to say but your naming is quite flawed too.
Don’t expect Eureka (2006) - s05 to work instead of Season 05. Given you also cross-posted in that other thread you’ve mentioned… let’s move this conversation into its own thread.

Just some first feedback…
It seems you’re pointing your library at /volumeUSB2/usbshare/TVShows01/which isn’t actually your library folder. This causes Plex to think multiple of your shows are actually the same show (and not finding any matches for a show called Org.

Example:

TVShows01     <- your library seems to be pointing here
  Org         <- your library should add THIS folder instead!!
    Game of Thrones
    Smallville
    Stargate SG-1

In this kind of folder organization, you need to point your library at the Org/ folder!
I assume you have more subfolders in TVShows01 like Org… so if you adjust the folders linked to your library, make sure to adjust those too to avoid recursive scanning.

ok thanks. Normally i link to the Org folder but i think let’s do it all at ones. No need to link everything to specific folders. This helps Thx

And my naming convention i will look at that. Thx for pointing it out. I can/will adjust my structure beter :slight_smile:

What tom80H said was the problem. I pointed too high in the hierarchy. So, now it’s being built and looks good.
