Problems playing home made videos

Hi!

I have a Plex server running on an Openmediavault machine, and access this over my home network with linux clients as well as smartphones etc, and recently a Rasberry Pi powered LibreELEC. The home videos are HD quality, rendered either to mp4 files or mpeg2 files. However, I have severe difficulties watching any such video on most devices - most particularly the Raspberry powered LibreELEC, but also from the web browser of linux laptops. What could I try, or check? Are there settings I should have a closer look at? Any information I should supply? I feel somewhat lost here, so grateful for any advice.

Thanks for your comment. Actually, I have even more problems playing mp4, than mp2. But I’ll try the Rasplex 1.70 for my Raspberry Pi 3.

The server is an Openmediavault machine (server, not NAS), fully capable of transcoding at hight speed.

As there are problems playing video files also from Android clients - could there be more settings on the server that I should tweak?
