Problem 2 is solved thanks to

on deck was timing out due tue massive changes in my collection
after i optimised it using the cog drop down menu next to the Servername everything was fine again
btw optimisation took less then a minute
GDM is still not working but as a workaround a fixed ip or the MyPlex login does help here.
I still would love to know the problem with GDM and a way to check or fix its functionality
Try rebooting all devices including your router and any network switches or powerline plugs.
