Problems using "Login with Apple" - Support needed

Hello!

I have problems using “Login with Apple” to login to my Plex account or create a new account.

I had an old Plex account (A) using a username / mail address to login. Now that “Login with Apple” is available, I wanted to switch to that. I also wanted to start fresh, so I logged out of my old account (A) and created a new one using “Login with Apple” (B). That worked - great!

I logged out of (B) and back into (A). There, I deleted (A). Then I wanted to log back into (B) to set it up properly - but I could not. I always get the message “Benutzername bereits verwendet” (“Username already in use”). Strange…

But “no problem”, I thought, “the account has nothing on it, so I’ll just create a new one”. I deleted my Plex account (B) from my Apple ID preferences. Then I tried to create a new Plex account ( C ) using “Login with Apple” again. The system dialog from OS succeeded, but on the Plex page I immediately get the “Username already in use” message. I tried this a few times, but I could not get it to work.

Additionally, I always used the option to hide my true e-mail address and use an Apple generated relay address instead. I saved the original relay address from account (B) in a note, but sadly I cannot receive any mails from it, because I deleted account (B).

After you delete a Plex account, the used user name and email address don’t become immediatley available to be used with a different account.
You are informed about that when you delete the account, btw.

You need to wait one month after the deletion, before you can re-use either the user name or the email address.

I read that, when deleting account (A). But the problem is, that I could not log in to account (B).

I logged out of (A),
crated (B) using “Login with Apple”,
logged out of (B),
logged in to (A),
deleted (A),
tried to log in to (B), unsuccessful.

Because of that, I removed (B) from my Apple ID,
tried to create a new one ( C ) with “Login with Apple”, unsuccessful.

I thought “Login with Apple” account use randomised tokens / relay email addresses. But it seems like Plex can identify my Apple ID, even though I have never shared my true Apple ID email.

I recommend you to contact https://www.plex.tv/contact/?option=plex-pass-billing if you continue to have issues. These are the only people who can untangle this.
