I have a dual boot Linux and Windows pc. Both systems share a hard drive with multimedia in NTFS format. I have plex installed on both operating systems with the latest version available.
The problem I have is that if I have Windows started for example with Plex, the television recognizes it without problem and it works correctly. When I restart the computer, and start with linux, the tv cannot find the server. the same happens in reverse, if it is running with linux, and I restart Windows, the tv stops locating the pc.
The tv has a yellow button on the remote to choose the server, but it does nothing. the three dots in the upper left area of the screen remain blinking.
The only solution I have found is to restart the pc again, starting with the previous operating system, and close and reopen Plex on the TV. Now it does let me choose the server from the yellow “C” button on the remote.
I have tried to put the same ip in both operating systems, but it does not work. is there any way to fix the problem? The version of Plex on the tv is from 2018, and there is no update.
As additional information, I have verified that although the Plex app does not recognize the server, if I go to “sources” on the tv, and select “Red media server”, from there I can access the server
