try my luck here, here has opened a case in German board, but no one could help.
Some technical information:
Plex Server Version 1.12.3.4973 installed on a Windows 10 1709 Prof. (Virtual Box VM), Virtual Box runs on a Linux Debian host.
When I start a H264 Series on a Fire TV stick, it stops after a second and jumps into the next episode and on a Windows 10 client (with The Plex app Windows Store) it behaves differently, here are after 2 seconds the episode restarted and then everything went normal.
If I disable Direct Play and Direct Stream on my Win10 Cleints, everything will be fine and I can see that my server decodes from H264 to H264, I can live with it, but I can no longer find these options on all my Android clients only on Windows and IOS.
Why are these two options not available on Android clients and what can I do?
Send Plex XML or MediaInfo Text View output for troublesome episode of problem show.
In Fire TV stick settings, set Display Information = On (settings -> video). When playing video, pull up on-screen controls (pause, etc). What is displayed in upper left corner of screen? Direct Play / Direct Stream / Transcode. If one of latter two, what is the reason for the video and/or audio transcode?
