I will raise with the development teams - perhaps we should pick the icon/image for the channel in the absence of an image for the movie
It would also be good to raise the image sent is not portrait as used in my IceTV experiment above. Much tidier and organized program images, there issue being image Library depth or to be blunt, lack.
Thanks for finding the root cause, great job.
Yes - I have already raised that
I heard that onConnect may come to Australia and New Zealand and I also heard that some territories do not even get any images from EyeQ !

The other interesting fact is that Images for the movies are available on IMDb and TMDb, could it be used as a fallback when EyeQ or onConnect fails?

Will see what options are available - the issue has been raised. Doing matching with IMDB and TMDB at this early stage would be a major change

could you try the Enhanced Program Guide option to see if makes any difference
UPDATE: Had Enhanced Program Guide enabled.
There appears to be a problem with the systems used for the Enhanced Program Guide - this will be looked into. I don’t know how much it would help in your case but it is supposed to get artwork

As expected the advanced setting enable or disabled as no difference to EPG movie images not displayed in DVR program guide from Gracenote in Australia with Freeview.

An issue with back end systems relating to artwork and metadata for the Enhanced Program Guide has just been fixed
Please do a Program Guide Refresh
No movie artwork, No improvement or change of landscape art instead of Portrait. Yes the refresh is faster, in my case much faster.
So my conclusion was this was about time of refresh EPG Enchanced enabled?
There should be artwork now.
Please check that you have the Enhanced Program Guide enabled still and refresh the EPG guide again and if problem remains get new screenshots and server logs - making sure debug logging is enabled before launch of Plex Media Server before doing the refresh
There is no evidence in the logs you sent me that the Enhanced Program Guide setting is enabled
Could you get me a screenshot to show it is enabled and also send me by PM a copy of the server settings file /Users/se56/Library/Preferences/com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist

It had already come to my attention that enhanced did not stay. So already redoing the process.

After enabling the Enhanced program Guide.
Movies have populated and many programs are in the correct orientation . A much better looking guide but took about 6 hours.
With the recent fix to DVR Program guide now showing movies an interesting development which I will Explain with screen shots. I do appreciate the improvement of the Visual Guide but still lacks so much.
What’s noticeable, different Channels, different eras, some with Title,Genre, Movie summary,Year and Cast but no Art, some with title and summary No art or Cast.
Off these there are some very famous movies like From Russia with Love.
There are examples of Related Movies art but no Title Art.
A very incomplete guide which is hard to explain why.
Have been looking at Movie program Guide again and have tried “Enable more frequent program guide refreshes”, this seems to improve the data collected.
Only two Movies missing Art, one recent and one old movie.
