Even though the Server update Channel is set to Public, I get a notification in the top bar and a notice in the Settings that an update is available even though the update mentioned is only from the Beta channel.
Whist probably not totally helpful, it appears that 1.41.0.8992 is not beta and available for all. Perhaps this was the case with 8921 also?
This explains it, update was pushed before making the announcement
