The current Plex Player is missing most of the media integration with Windows. The main missing items include the taskbar overlay icons that allow for quick play/pause, next, & previous. Both Plexamp and the old PMP in the Windows Store supported these. Also requested here. Official Windows documentation appears to be here.
Also missing is the Windows integration that shows song title, thumbnail, etc. while also allowing for media control. Here is a different post with sample code for another player demonstrating the integration. The official Microsoft documentation is here.
