I am having trouble with the sound output from my multi-channel audio rips. I have tried AAC 5.1, AAC Pro logic and various AC3 configurations. All my 5.1 audio files are down mixed to stereo on my HT receiver when played through the app. Left and right channel have the sound effects track while the right channel alone has the vocal audio. All of the file played via DLNA play perfectly. Any ideas? I’d be happy to re-rip to an audio track that works better, but haven’t hit on the magic combination yet. By the way, all my files with AAC are direct playing to the PS3, thus my confusion.
Having the same issue here. I can use my Plex for Android, then send to Chromecast on same AV setup and the files work perfectly. This shows that the FILES and the SERVER are fine. It is the PS3 app.
Even more info for the group…I just installed the PS4 app and ran the same files/movies. It works perfectly.
Yes this is on another AV setup (our gaming system), but it plays 1080p and DTS without pausing or interruptions. This is bad for me as I moved our PS3 to our main viewing system (read here, the one the wife uses and the PS4 is in the basement. Urgh! Any thought of why it would ONLY not be working on a PS3?
This has been an issue for at least a year and is very annoying. It’s definitely just the PS3 app, I have a PS4 connected as well, to the same AV system, in the same way, and all the audio is fine. Anyone submitted it as a bug report yet?
