i have got a plex media server running on my synology nas (DS412+) and two clients (ps3, ps4) for streaming videos. My problem is that the startup of the ps4 app takes really long compared to the ps3 app. With the ps3 it takes about 5-10 seconds. But with the ps4 it takes about 1 or 2 minutes. Did anyone figure out similar problems? Or is the problem already known? Couldn’t find anything about that.
I don’t think this is related to any media server version because i updated the server several times but there was no improvement.
Figured out the problem with following PS4 app versions:

How fast does it start, when you turn off the secure connection on the server?
I am having a similar problem. I have the Plex server installed on my iMac. It loads in 5-10 seconds on other computers and iOS devices, but on my ps4 it takes upwards of 2-3 minutes. Often it will say there was a problem and asks me to reset flex, but it immediately loads the flex content over that screen. Very confusing.
Same here, sometimes error is shown, but its tremendously slow compared to all other apps (iphone, ipad, mac, apple tv). Wasn’t like this before. So could be a server setting.
If you just use DLNA all works perfectly fast and fine, can supply logs when I have the chance.
I’m pretty sure it has something to do with the security of the connection. If I turn off the secure connection (https) the PS4 app becomes lightning fast.
It is defo the secure connection. I had mine set to preferred and the ps4 app was unusable. Changed it to disabled and it was fine. Seemed to only affect my ps4 on my internal network though as my brother in law was able to use the app on his ps4 remotely perfectly. Are there plans for this to be fixed at all?? Id prefer to secure all my connections
