PS4 controller (DualShock4) goes to sleep while using PLEX with headphones so audio mutes

PS4 controller (DualShock4) goes to sleep while using PLEX with headphones so audio mutes. It does not occur when playing video with the native PS4 app. PLEX should keep controller awake when headphones are connected in order to keep audio on. Any help? Thank you in advance.
