Player Version#: Plex for PlayStation 4 - 4.29.4
Just noticed the Playstation 4 is having trouble connecting to the Plex Media Server.
We have been using it for years, and plex still works on phones and is able to chromcast shows, but playstation only sees the crackle streaming content.
I tried manually adding the server to ps4 as well, it is not available on it either trying to add the servers IP.
Tried disconnecting from plex and syncing with is again and removing and reinstalling on PS4…no change. Only Crackle streaming content…media server still not available.
Tried a wired and wireless network on PS4…no change.
Any suggestions or is PS4 broken for now?
Took me a while to check my PS4 plex version, but I have the same one. Honestly I don’t use Plex on my PS4 much because the delay seems worse than Roku & Samsung TV player apps.
Mine is working just fine and I have the most current Server-Windows Version 1.19.2.2737 – I think you posted the Web player version. I don’t know enough to help a lot. But I have had issues with PS4 and it is slower than my TV as a player. I also suggest manually setting IP address for the server incase internet issue.
So this was an odd issue. Im setting up a new plex server since i just got a new computer. New server works fine to PS4. Old server still worked for a friend of mine through the internet on his xbox.
I am guessing the problem must be something corrupted or something on the server but is really only making an issue on the PS4 for me. I dont get that, but setting up a new server will resolve the issue for me here.
