PS5 plex application not starting properly

This seems new to today as I was using the application fine yesterday.
When opening the app it gets stuck on the Plex Logo and then it shows:

“Plex is taking a long time to start” with two options to either restart or clear settings and restart plex.

I’ve tried both without success, I’ve also tried deleting all application data on the console and reinstalling, no success.

It just keeps getting stuck on the logo.

Plex works fine on my phone and desktop PC, it just gets stuck on this console.

I am having the same issue. Plex server running and playing videos fine on PC and iPad, but for PS5 the applications starts to load, shows “Plex” on the screen for a second or two, then a black screen was working just fine last night.

PS5 app will not load beyond black screen even with Server off, which it usually would do and just show the non-server stuff.

I have tried:
Rolling back the server to previous version, and re-updated after that didn’t do the trick. Rebooted both times.
Uninstalled the PS5 app, rebooted PS5, reinstalled the PS5 app. No change.

Does it also show last updated 6/26 and version 1.007.000 for you under the application information?

Same here. Version 1.007.000
Did a safe boot and rebuild database on the ps5.
Uninstall and reinstall of the app.
Updated the server to Version 1.40.3.8555
Keep getting the black screen after the logo

Plex had a problem with their backend servers. It also affected LG TVs. It should be resolved.

If there is a way to force quit the Plex app, that should be sufficient (I don’t have a PS5, so not sure of the capabilities).

Restarting the PS5 should work too.

You need to completely quit the app. Then, on next launch, it will check in w/ servers at plex.tv. Things should work, since Plex fixed the problem on their end (LG TVs working now working OK).

Can confirm it works now on my end after closing and re-opening the app.
