Due to the way the Playstation app works you will not be able to load Plex until Sony fix the PSN network.

Funny thing because Netflix and Amazon Prime Video as well as Watchever are working like always, thus we actually have to blame only the Plex Devs and nobody else!
Interesting you say that - when I try to load Netflix on my PS3 it goes into the same loop trying to log in to PSN as when I load the Plex app…
Correction: Netflix shows the PSN login, but if i ignore it for long enough it disappears and I can use the app. I wonder why this is not the case for Plex. You raise a valid point.
Correction 2: Turns out it worked because my PS3 has successfully logged in to PSN. Plex has now loaded
Plex still not working, neither does Youtube. Very strange that PSN is required for these apps to function
Plex on my PS4 eventually loaded. Took about 3 minutes sitting at the loading screen but it eventually worked.
Netflix on my PS4 doesn’t even ask for my PSN login. Same for Amazon Video and Watchever. All these just ask for the login credentials of my respective account.
Here’s a Video of me proving that PSN is down but then starting a movie on Netflix and afterwards a Show on Amazon.
The great thing about the PSN / Plex issue is: If PSN is down so you can’t play games you very likely want to watch some Movie or Show but thanks to whoever you can’t do that too - as long as you don’t (additionally) have Netflix and/or Amazon and/or Watchever (or Hulu).
I was home for lunch today and tried to use the Plex app on my PS4, it just sat there, which was precived to be an issue with my Plex server and not beacuse of the PSN outage. I used Netflix with out an issue.
Fast forward 6 hours later after work, to find the PSN still down and Plex still not working. There is nothing wrong with my Plex server as it work everywhere else just not on the PS4. Just curious why the app needs the PSN to operate, and I doubt this is anything that can be resolved by Plex. If other apps like Youtube and Amazon are effected then this is an Playstation operation system requirement.
I logged on here hoping here was a magic workaround. I havent seen one yet, if not I will wait for the PSN outage to be fixed first.

plex works on ps4 even if psn is down just make sure to have your ps4 activated as your primary ps4 and itll work
In my case my PS4 is my primary console. Everybody who just have one PS4 and didn’t changed the settings on the web have their PS4 set as primary automatically.
