I've used the Plex app pretty much daily since it came out, but starting today it just freezes when I open it, sticking on the big PLEX logo, or a blank screen with three little dots blinking in the bottom right corner. I've tried closing the app and reopening it, and restarting my PS4 with no effect. Going to try reinstalling the app in a few minutes
Was the app updated or something, and the update is just broken? Or is there another explanation?
After posting this thread I noticed that there are PSN issues right now. I don't know why that would affect Plex since I use a local server, but hopefully that's all the problem is.
Yeah, it's definitely annoying. The App seems to be web-based... or something. When you start it up, it seems to be able to apply updates without updating the actual application on the PS4 itself. Without PSN it can't reach this web-based requirement, thus the "..." instead of displaying the version number. PSN is *not* reliable, and never will be, so I'm hoping the Plex team creates some kind of workaround in the future.
same thing happens on xbox one im sure at some point they will have a work around but remmber guys this is beta and still pretty new and they arent a huge team and make and maintain alot of apps.
