First post here - Hope it is okay that I’m posting a question in this spot. As mentioned in the subject I was an early adopter and tired, then purchased the Plex app in 2013 to remove the play limits. I just changed phones and installed the app on the new phone, which said I must update my server on my PC to play content. When I updated my server from 0.9.16.6 to 1.13.2.5154, I was able to play content on the new phone, but only for 1 minute unless I purchase a Plexpass. Now my other devices, which worked fine yesterday, also don’t work. My understanding, based on research when the Plexpass model was first rolled out, is that early purchasers of the app were grandfathered and would be allowed to continue to use the service without limits. Is this still correct? Do I need to roll back to earlier versions to continue use?
For which app did you buy the unlocking?
This is only valid if you continue to use a phone that is connected to the same app store and app store account.
e.g. if you bought the app for an iPhone, you can continue to use it on your new iPhone. Provided you did not switch iTunes store accounts (AppleID).
But if you switched over to Android, you cannot take the app unlocking with you. Different app store.
Hello OttoKerner - Thanks much for the quick response. I purchased the Android version using the same google account that I’m using currently. I actually found the purchase in my Google purchase history, I have the transaction number, screenshots, etc.
