First post here. Been using Plex to connect to my NAS for years. Just under a decade or so. Today, 3.24.24, of all days my Plex pass, the one I paid $5 for a really long time ago on my Android phone at the time, does not work anymore. Asking me to buy it again. What gives? Does anyone have this? Any tips? Who to contact? Thanks in advance!!
From what you describe, you’re not referring to an actual Plex Pass membership ($5 per month) but the one-time in-app purchase to activate the mobile app. That activation is linked to the respective App Store and your account on that platform (e.g. Google Play Store and Google account).
If the mobile device in question is signed in the same Google account you should be able to restore the previous purchase.
Ah really, so my Android phone years ago, I think the last I had was the Note 2, and not that is not void IPhone even though it had been for the last few years??
Not sure I understand the question.
App activation is linked to the respective app store and account. If you’re switching to a different platform (e.g. Google Play vs. Amazon Fire vs. Apple), the new platform won’t know you had a previous activation.
Given you’re hopefully enjoying Plex on your phone, it might be worth the extra $5 on the new platform.
