Can someone help me out there. I have QNAP set up for storage and are a lover of the Plex Server. While i can plan 99% of plex files on my laptop, I can only play a very small amount of files on my QNAP Plex server - This has 4GB memory and is consistently running at 20% utilisation. When i try to play a file via the QNAP plex server i keep getting a message telling that the QNAP is not powerful to transcode this file. Is there a setting I am missing or is it something else. Hep please
Please provide details here
- QNAP Model?
- Player used

Hi and thanks
Model TS431-p2 - have install the plex server app on the QNAP and set up a plex server that accesses the file on the QNAP - i then try to play these on samsung and hisense tvs.
Hope this helps thanks
Sorry i am not a techo… i download via vuse - is there a better app i can use for this?
can you tell me how to get these logs
I have the zip log file - how do i attached do see how to do this
Simply drag it into the editor window when typing your reply. Alternately, use the Upload icon in the window, the one with the arrow pointing up.
I tried to play a file that gave the message and then downloaded the log file so should be one of the last entries
Thanks
Your QNAP is Arm Based, and as such, can’t transcode
So in order to play your medias, you need to make them compatible with your player your self

If you need to do this, I recommend Handbrake

Hi - do i have to do this individually with every file or is there a torrent download app that can do this for me?
Thanks
Individually by using a script file and mkvtoolnix (mkvtoolnix will remove the unwanted streams)
