I was getting ready to upgrade my firmware on my QNAP NAS drive and the “What’s New” file says “Removed support for Plex Home Theater from HybridDesk Station”.
I run Plex from the AppCenter on my QNAP NAS drive. I apologize for my ignorance but I have no idea how this firmware upgrade will affect my ability to continue to run Plex from my NAS drive. I don’t really know what HybridDesk Station is.
Please just tell me that it won’t affect the function of Plex and I will be happy. I run Plex either on a PC or through an Amazon Fire TV device. Until I am sure of not losing Plex, I’m afraid to upgrade my firmware. Over the long term, I’m afraid not to upgrade it.
QNAP describes HybridDesk Station as “The HybridDesk Station is a platform where the famous XBMC application or Chrome browser can be installed to let you directly play back your NAS multimedia contents or browse the internet websites on the TV screen thru the HDMI interface.”
Thanks to anyone who can simplify this for me.
