QNAP Plex Media Server

Server Version#:1.41.6
Player Version#: 4.145.1
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled> My Ipad Pro updated yesterday to the newest version. So for the first time my audiobook library is only available to play via Plexamp. There were people on Reddit that indicated that would be the only way going forward. So I started looking this morning for the QNAP current version of Plexamp and didn’t find it. Can assume I will be able to add and edit my audiobook library on my Media Server; until such time as qnap gets a new version of Plexamp? Or will I always use the Server for adding file and editing the files, and just use Plexamp for Windows,Android and IOS playing of the files?

Thanks in advance

Michael

Plexamp is the player app you put on your phone, tablet, or set top box.

What Plex has done - Instead of trying to cram everything into one app, they broke it out. Each app can be tailored for the content it’s streaming and no longer be a One-Size-Fits-All app. (Yes, there are pros and cons to both approaches)

So ChucKPa then I will still be able to manage my files from the Sever, just play them (when on a phone or tablet) from Plexamp?

I wish Plex had been more clear in their update. Thanks!

As I understand the new architecture to be – Yes.

In the past, they ran into trouble trying to make a “One size fits all” app.
Now, they are free to customize each app (each media type) for what’s best for that type of media.

I am not certain if there will be a management app but it would make sense. ( Some of the NAS vendors have it broken out this way )
