QNAP Server unable to add libraries

Player Version#: web

Complete uninstall / reinstall of plex on QNAP, and I can’t add any libraries. Digging into the Logs directory I see:

… which appears to be the exact error in this thread:

I’ve tried the oldest version I can download at Plex, PlexMediaServer-1.31.1.6733-bc0674160-x86_64… but it also exhibits the same error.

Can we please get some Plex support attention on this issue?

That was fixed but not in the build. We have 3 major issues back-to-back all being solved in sequence.

Install Public release for now (on top of the existing)

What is the “Public” release? When I go to https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/, not logged in, the version offered for QNAP is:
1.31.1.6733-bc0674160

… which is one of the versions I did try and confirmed is broken in this same way.

Public: Plex Pass Downloads = Off. Currently 1.31.1.6733.

Beta: Plex Pass Downloads = On. Currently 1.31.2.6757.

You can subscribe to the Plex Media Server announcement thread to be notified when updates are available. Scroll to the bottom of the thread and change “Normal” to “Watching.”

Okay, so I guess I was correct that the “public” version is 1.31.1.6733.

This version is broken.

If there is a version that’s NOT broken, I’d like to know. But Chuck seemed to be saying that the “Public” release installing would fix the issue. I tried before I posted this in the first place.

So, waiting on Plex for a fix, is what I am given to understand at this point.

PUBLIC does the following:

  1. Stops the “Can’t create a server” problem.
  2. Stops other problems

PUBLIC doesn’t fix the libraries problem (predates the fix)

PlexPass has a regression which negates using it (the Libraries fix)

Which version would you like? About a month back?

No, I don’t keep any handy. Version I see in QNAP App Center is 1.16.6.

Not a critical issue for me, so I’ll hold tight until there’s a fix published.

1.16.6 ? I got them to update to 1.29.2

Well, do we know when the “add libraries” bug came in? I guess I’m looking for the version one before that!

Which model do you have ? I’ll grab you a version (recent) which I know is stable and works.
