Hi Guys I need your help please. I am really new to Qnap and I looked everywhere but I can not find any fix on my issue. Basically I have Qnap TS853A with latest Plex server: 1.25.2.5319 installed but my Libraries are not updating at all when I add new pictures, shows or movies or music I have to force it always to see what I have uploaded. I tried everything from your forum or outside the forum but still nothing I have to force it always. I have also tried to wait for the daily maintenance which I have setup but still nothing or change settings to recommended by people (look on attached pictures) but still the same outcome they will not update automatically. When I first installed the plex server couple of months ago it was working great but now after last 2-3 plex server updates it did stopped working and I have tried reinstall the server completely and start from scratch but still the same outcome. I have also read lots on forums that this is still ongoing issue with plex server. I do not want really to setup like forced scan every hour or something like that to cause wear on the drives. Could you help please I am going crazy really.
Thank you for your reply. It is definitely less folders then 65536 and I am running QTS 5. Just to clarify it is 65536 for all shared folders I mean is this total for all shared folders on Plex (MOVIE, PHOTOS,MUSIC , SERIES)? and if not then for example my Movies and Series shared Folder has Movies folder contains 72 sub folders and 979 files and Series folder contains 556 sub folders and 6287 files and I am nowhere near to the capacity of folders. Any another ide what I can try please? I have really tried all advice from this forum what I could find but still no luck and I do not really know what is wrong. Like I said I tried uninstall the plex server and started from scratch couple of times but with the same result the Library will not update automatically at all. I am happy to do anything to try but without the risk I can do something really wrong. Thank you once again for help.
Hi thank you for your reply. But my Plex server on Qnap does not update any library at all and it does matter what I will setup in settings or I have tried to remove Plex server completely and start from scratch but still unlucky. It drives my crazy that I have to do it all the time when I will copy something to my drives and plex will just not do anything. Sometimes I forget to run the scan library and then next day I wonder if I have done it or not. Not ideal really and would like to find some fix or patch on this because two or 3 version plex server back it was not doing this and everything was ok. I can not remember which version it was such a shame. I do not want really start mixing plex server versions because it will do much more damage then help. I really do not know what to do. I have spend hours on searching for solution on forums and around the internet but nothing seems to work. I have contacted plex directly and they told me they do not do direct trouble shooting and I need to go on this forum. I hope that someone from Plex will be able to assist and help please. Thank you. Thank you for your reply. Sorry I was away but I am back now. Ok here is my way to my libraries example: /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/MediaSignPlayer/CodexPackExt/share/Music I believe this is the problem right?
I had a look and only another way which I can setup in plex server will be this way: /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Music
Ok here are are some questions please:
1, Should I remove ( uninstall ) plex completely and setup it all again?
2, Or should I delete only all libraries and setup them all again?
3, Or should I just leave my all libraries and change the way to new folders and delete the previous way?
4, Is there anything else what I should do?
I just to not want to do something wrong before I do it. Thank you for understanding.
Sorry for late reply but I was away. You are STAR mate. This this solution worked for me. You are number 1. Thank you very very much. Now everything works as it should. The problem was exactly the location of shared folder and once I have changed that and followed your way everything was sorted.
