QNAP TS-451+ This Site Cannot Be Reached

Server Version#: QNAP TS-451+
Player Version#: 1.42.1

I’ve been using PMS on a QNAP TS-451+ for 5 years and have multiple devices with PlexPass that I use to watch movies stored on QNAP. Recently, went to watch a movie on my tv and my library wasn’t available any longer. The library is no longer available on any device.

I updated PMS on QNAP to most recent version but I’m still getting an error message stating “This site can’t be reached 192.168.0.5 refused to connect.” I have searched online and tried various troubleshooting suggestions but nothing works.

I updated PMS. I checked and PMS is running. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. No proxy or firewall issues. I restarted the QNAP.

Any ideas on how to fix would be appreciated because I’m at my wits end.

Look in Resource Monitor to confirm it’s running. App Center can say it’s running when it’s crashed / didn’t start

If you can confirm it’s running but it’s not accessible on port 32400,

  1. Restart PMS and try it again. You should always get a reply if it’s running
    http://lan,.ip.of.qnap:32400/web

  2. If you now do get a reply (empty Plex/web browser page) but no server, then it’s likely become unclaimed.

This shell script will resolve it.

  1. Download the script, put in /share/Public
  2. SSH (or putty) into the NAS
  3. sudo bash to gain elevated privileges
  4. Reclaim it using the script.

The README file shows example on QNAP.

Thanks a lot @ChuckPa !

I have the same issue - got Plex Media Server running on QNAP TS-464, Firmware QTS 5.2.6.3195, and can see in the AppCentre that it is running (should be, because I reinstalled Plex Media Server on the QNAP, and Plex itself on the devices I’m using, and rebooted every single device) :

However, following your tip to check the resource monitor made me realise that it is not actually running:

I’ll try and find out how Schroeder’s Media Server can both run and not run a the same time, but if you (or someone else) has any tips, I’d be very grateful.

Wishing you all a good Sunday from Zurich, Switzerland,

Paul

P.S. The Resource Monitor overview shows plenty of memory / CPU left:
