Im having a really hard time deciding on what NAS to get. I currently have a 19", 16 bay Windows 10 box running a pretty old i7-2600K with 16 gig ram. It can transcode quite a few 1080 streams simultaniously, but 4K is a no go. So Im looking for something more powerful while at the same time getting rid of Windows reliance as well.
So Im looking into getting a nas, 6-8 bays preferably and think I may have found one I like. There are just to many models and Ill admit Im a little confused.
Anyways, Im looking into getting the TVS-872 XT. As I understand, it does support hardware transcoding out of the box, and If what it comes with isnt sufficient, it will also support a P2000 card for added horsepower, is that correct?
Have anyone here used these and have some feedback on what kind of performance I can expect?
How many concurrent 1080p streams will it be able to transcode?
How many concurrent 4K streams can it transcode?
With and/or without a P2000
Feedback would be greatly appreciated!
