Hello! As the title states, I have Internet Streaming video quality set to “Maximum” in my Plex Media Server settings, so I’m expecting all videos to play at Original quality when launching remotely. Instead, all videos are launching at 2Mbps quality, and you need to manually switch the video to Original quality every time. This is happening on all devices and to all users from what I can tell.
Key question should be how you configured the video / playback quality settings in your respective clients – not so much what you configured on the server.
On the server itself you usually only configure:
quality for Plex Web in that particular browser
bandwidth limitations for remote streaming from your server
Please check out the settings on your client (e.g. Settings > Quality > Video Quality and Settings > Quality > Audio Quality in iOS; Settings > Video > [Quality for ...] in Plex Media Player…)
I’ve checked my Plex Media player, and the remote streaming was set to 2MB, so I’ve changed it to Maximum and now it’s defaulting to Maximum. I’m guessing the reason why I never had to do that before was because I was home streaming via my old Plex server, and now in this new one (as of 1 month), I’m internet streaming instead. So I never had to change that setting before.
