Question about behavior of PMS when syncing multiple movies

When I sync movies to another device such as an Android phone, tablet, or Windows PC from PMS for Windows, I can later delete those movies one at a time to free up space. However, if I select a group of movies to sync, I can’t seem to determine a way to delete those movies individually. This means that in order free up space I need to watch all of the movies in that group before I can delete anything.

Am I missing something here or is this expected behavior?

It is indeed not possible to delete individual items which were synced as a group.

But you can do this, which takes care of the issue automatically: Next time when you sync a group of movies, tick the checkbox ‘only unwatched’.
After you have watched one movie and perform a Sync operation, it will get deleted automatically from your phone, making room for the next one.
(You can also edit existing sync jobs and add this check mark, using the web app. [Settings - Sync])

This method is particularly useful with tv shows. Instead of tediously syncronizing individual episodes, you just sync the tv show as a whole, but define a limit to e.g. 5 episodes and say ‘Only Unwatched’.
You don’t need to make any further adjustments to the sync job until you have played all the episodes of this show. Plex will make sure that your phone will always have the next 5 episodes ready to watch offline.

The beauty lies in the fact, that the server knows about the ‘watched’ episode immediately after you have finished it. (unless you disable all data traffic in your phone or it doesn’t have reception at all).
Which gives the server plenty of time to pre-transcode the next epsiode. That way you only have to wait for the copy process to finish when you start the next Sync operation, but don’t have to endure the ‘transcoding’ phase as well.

Excellent suggestion. Thank you. I had not realized that it worked as described.

Thanks once again for the help.
