Question about disabling speed-throttling for external network

Hi all
Since it’s more secure ( than opening ports in your home modem ), I wanted to use TailScale ( 3rd party VPN, assigning 100.0.0.0/8 as INTERNAL addresses ) to access my home-server.

When I’m outside my WIFI ( and, using the VPN with Plex Android app ), the phone probably detects it like an external network - therefore throttle my download speeds to about 15Mbps ( 2MB ).

I tried to change the settings but failed miserably. Restarted phone-app and server between each test I did.

TL;DR

1. Can you please help me with it?
Can someone please list all the related settings, so that i’ll make sure I didn’t miss one?
Server-/Client- side… everything.

2. I couldn’t see a line in the logs, regarding the speed-throttling. What should I look for? ( “throttle”, “External Network”, etc. ). Transcoder-logs were very dull.
Also, should I enable verbose/debug/both ?
2. b. What’s the difference between verbose and debug? Which is the more-detailed option?

I would love to share the logs with you but they are huge and might contain information I don’t want to share. If you can reffer me to a specific log file, I’d love to sterilize and upload just one file.

Thanks!

Hi all!

Just fixed it; I changed some settings earlier this evening and then couldn’t watch a video I already downloaded… took me some time to reach that specific log.

For me, it was some mounting problem inside the app.

Can someone else see if he can reproduce that? I manged, several times, on my Pixel 7.

TL;DR

Earlier that evening, I changed the “max size” for plex downloads. It probably broke something.

I just entered the settings again ( on android ) and re-selected “Internal Storage”.

Then - deleted all downloads happened in between the changes ( so, no need to touch old downloads ).
