Logs from tonight:
Plex Media Server Logs_2022-04-02_20-51-05.zip (17.8 MB)
Issue occurred (based on Tautulli logs) at 2022-04-02 18:19:16
For the logs tonight, I restarted the container around 20:50 and then did a database optimization prior to downloading the logs.
Host: Centos 7
Docker container using latest Linuxserver.io Plex container.
I previously posted about this here, Intermittent connectivity issues (local and remote) back in October 2021. @ChuckPa tried to help troubleshoot but the issue kind of stopped on its own for a while but seems to have come back.
The issue appeared again (that I noticed) on April 1st and the timestamp of it happening should be about 2022-04-01 21:40:46. I did look in the logs but didn’t notice anything myself (though not unexpected as I am not really sure what to be looking for).
The reason I noticed this (like I mentioned in the previous thread) is that Tautulli stopped showing that anything was playing. It changed to displaying “Nothing is currently being played” when I knew for a fact that was false as I was watching something at the time.
I then went to the Plex dashboard and it that was still showing that there were active streams and all the charts and graphs on the dashboard page (bandwidth, CPU, RAM, Top users, etc.,) were still showing data. After a little time, wasn’t really paying attention to how long, I noticed that all the charts and graphs went blank. I didn’t end up doing anything and after some more time they eventually populated again and were working as expected.
I am beginning to think that maybe there is something with Docker because everything else I am running on this server still works when I this is happening. I’ve tried using netshoot (GitHub - nicolaka/netshoot: a Docker + Kubernetes network trouble-shooting swiss-army container) but I’m not really the best with containers when it comes to troubleshooting. I’m able to get them setup but when it comes to troubleshooting them that’s a bit more difficult for me.
Just out of curiosity I did do a speed test while this was going on (it’s happening as of while I’m writing this post) and that worked fine and gave me no issues and about the speed I expected.
So I know the server is able to connect out to the internet and I am able to access the server locally via SSH and also over the CIFS share I have setup for my Windows computers.
@ChuckPa did notice this last time:

I still do see messages like this, however during the time I experienced this issue, that message did not occur in my logs. I have a Putty session opened with a command similar to this one from @ChuckPa from the last thread
tail -F "/config/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs/Plex Media Server.log" | grep -i "internet connectivity"
Not really sure what/where to look at next to try and figure this out and resolve it.
Thanks,
