Random domain overloading fns requests

Hi I've noticed that suddenly a domain in honk kong is overloading my plexconnect with dns requests. How can I block that? I have plexconnect on a vps (ubuntu 12.04).

here is a screenshot of the logs:

Sounds like you have the DNS server open to the internet and this is not recommended as there is no security on the plexconnect DNS and allows for people to use to for attacks etc.

Make sure you don’t have port 53 open to the internet.

@drewbie thanks for the response.

But I'm my plexconnect is on a vps and I access it from may apple tv in an other location. Will blocking the dns port still enable me to use plexconnect?

Plexconnect is not designed for that purpose, it should be run at the location of the ATV.

To do what you want, you would have to be able to restrict who has access to port 53 so only the external ip of where your ATV is can access that port otherwise you are open to this type of attack. But this would mean you would need at static ip on your internet connection otherwise you would have to change the rule when your ip changes.
