Server Version#: 1.24.3.5033
Player Version#: Multiple players (Apple TV, Roku, Web App, iOS)
Over the past week I’ve been experiencing an issue across Samsung Smart TV app, iOS, Apple TV and the web app where some films in my collection are returning an error along the lines of “Couldn’t retrieve play queue item”. I haven’t experienced this in my TV or Music libraries, only my Movies library. I’ve seen some examples in the forums of people dealing with this issue related to private Photos libraries or personal videos, but I haven’t found a ton of guidance on how to troubleshoot the problem for other content. I initially thought that this had to do with a video codec issue, but this is happening on a mix of x265, h264 and HEVC content. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.Plex Media Server Logs_2021-10-05_11-08-58.zip (7.0 MB)
I’m having the same problem with windows 10 , some movie’s will start to play then go to buffering if I refresh the page then I get Error s1003 (network) everything is up to date, this started after the last up date, is there a way to rollback the updates?
Update: just for the heck of it those movies that wouldn’t play in windows I tried on Roku and I got a error on Roku asking to reboot Roku and check my cable connections after resetting the Roku those movies began to play on the Roku and Windows, so I’m guess the secondary devices may have something to do with it. currently everything seems to working O.K.
This issue is now popping up for me regularly across all my iOS devices after the latest server update - Apple TV (both 4K and HD), iPhone and iPad are now returning the error ‘Couldn’t retrieve play queue item’ for a variety of movies. Those same movies work fine when played via the browser.
Is there any possible fix for this or avenues to explore around investigating this further?
EDIT: I just thought I’d try something and items that wouldn’t play are now playing - just had to rematch the items or refresh the metadata on the impacted items and they started playing fine *¯_(ツ)_/¯
