I have a playlist with 705 songs in it. It seems to keep playing the same songs over and over and not reallyrandomizing how I think it should. Anyone else experience this?
What app are you using and how do you perceive it as not being random?

Actually… I have noticed this but it takes a lot of Random use to see it.
In our case, my husband watches Golden Girls everyday in the kitchen in the background. He goes to the playlist we have of just the show and hits Shuffle. A “random” episode plays and then moves on to let it play for a few hours before turning it off.
Well the thing is, PLEX will go back to the same episodes for days sometimes. Like on day 1 he will “see” 5-6 episodes play before he turns it off. On day 2, when he shuffles… 2 of them will be the same from Day 1. On day 3 when he shuffles he’ll again see those same 2 episodes in the random shuffle. Day 4, one of those episodes will be there and we will have noticed that one we saw on 2 and 3 where now repeating as well.
Same with music, we have a 300ish song album we like to random. If we let it play for 30 minutes or so each day, we will hear a dozen or two of the same songs each day while others we will never hear.

I’m just playing my playlist that I’ve created, not a album radio and I’m playing it directly off my Plex server, not with PlexAmp.
You could try creating a smart playlist, which excludes recently played items automatically from it.
I’d be interested in the outcome, if you do it like this:
(notice the sorting “by randomly”)
