Random Share Request?

Hey! I’m a solo Plex user. Never shared my email or username with anyone and I got a request today from someone I’d never met or heard of and am a little concerned.

DIVINO2020 —Wants to share with you
Shares 2 libraries with you

I can only guess this person was randomly spamming people’s usernames since mine is made up of a two random nouns and unique to Plex (and not tied to any other account).

Should I be worried? Anyone else have this?

Sorry for being ignorant. Just found it weird.

It happens from time to time. More often if you are posting in some public forum with your real email address or user name. Some people are trying to extend their collection that way.
Just deny the request and be done with it.

Just ignore it. I get those kind of random share requests from time to time and the only way there could be any problem is to accept the invite. I am not sure what could go go wrong if you accept but the only reason for that kind of offer is to get something from you. They may be only fishing for a reciprocal situation so as to get access to more movies to watch but why chance it?

I just ignore any and all such invites. I do not know anyone I even like well enough to share my media with them. My dog already has access to everything he needs and his access is local anyway.

Ah, right! That makes sense. I didn’t think of the forums. Thanks for assuaging my paranoid rear.

Thanks for the reply!

:joy: My cats are in the same boat.
