So this morning I get a totally random invite to be a Plex friend to someone with the username killyourself.
I’m pretty sure I don’t know this person, and though curiosity is making me wonder why, I’m also laughing at the username. I mean, really, it’s funny (to my warped dark humor) to get a message in your friends list stating “killyourself wants to be your friend”.
This user has an unconfirmed email address. They registered on the forum September 2016.
They’ve started no discussions and have no posts.
The last forum visit (while logged in anyway) was in June.
I’ve Plex messaged them asking if we might know each other, and if not, what prompted to invite a random stranger.
I’m all for Plex being a way to make like-minded friends and see new things I’ve not found or known to search for myself, but I’m already at a user management level that makes it difficult to add new libraries to more than a few. (Plex needs to add way to share library with multiple people selection, rather than edit each user individually) Most of the friends I’ve shared with are family who don’t even use my server, and I’ve considered “cleaning house”.
I ask of you all for conversation - how do you handle random invites, if and when you’ve gotten them?
Or how might you handle them if you haven’t received any before?
Do you care if a random friend has a server?
Or do you add on to your friends list not caring whether they have content to share or not?
