I appreciate all the features. I really really do. I have used plex for 7 years and watch it daily. I recently installed plex client onto 3 ipad airs and… I can’t figure out what everthing is. I am sorry I am 68 years old and spent the last 22 years of my life as an IT administrator helping users to get their work done. I supported people in Japan (remotely using chinese based characters)… and the rest of my work career helping american based workers starting with XP through windows 10… and I can’t figure out all the options on the screens now. I usually pick up an ipod or iphone/smartphone, fire up plex and “hope” I can see something I want to see… but instead I find rows and rows of TV, music, movies, recently played, newly added, so on, and so on, ad nauseum. I do not see a simple menu that allows me to select what I want… unless I bypass the huge number of choices of things I do NOT want.
I think plex has been growing and during the growth process… has become enamored of all the new features. and want to make sure that EVERYONE see all the neat new things. BUT… I don’t want to see them… until I go looking for them. I feel like I bought a car and the salesman has been so excited to show me all the features, that he has ripped off the hood, doors, windows trunk and all the sleek bits in order to proudly show me the guts of the car.
If I had my way and could direct the future growth of plex, I would say… “Clean up that messy messy front end. Make it Sleek, Clean, and Straightforward again”
Then I would have them put all the body work back on and make it easy to get to what you wanted without be overwhelmed by many many internal details of plex that should not be shown when you first open the program.
Thank you for your consideration

I agree
I wish that the Plex-owned Movies&TV section was opt-in, but that’s not going to happen
I will close this down. No one is listening. I feel sad that Plex is going down this road and the intelligence of the system is overshadowed by the super customization of the clients.
On-Screen, I bypass all the fluff and go to my movies. EVERYTHING ELSE? I ignore.
I will uninstall Plex from my android car stereo cause I can no longer understand what everything is and what it means and am uninterested in learning the useless trivia that is the mobile menu systems now. I wish I could get a stripped down version that would let me download movies, music, etc, to my car android, then when I started the car, I could tap the screen and it would start playing. I try and work through the menus now and I give up. It’s like being told I have to learn to be an IRS accountant and calculate every single line of my income tax form myself and I can’t find anyone to do the work for me.
Too bad no one in management of Plex is listening. I feel like a lone voice crying in the forest “HELP ME!” and only hearing my own echo.
sigh
