Its 100% taking advantage of more power wether its full advantage I am not sure, but its night and day vs previous Pi
I concur with sytemx.
Here are the results of my tests (YMMV).
Setup:
I used openELEC 5.0.1 on a SanDisk Ultra 8GB SD Card with wired ethernet connection and HDMI to display.
These were both using freshly downloaded openELEC img files.
I ran through the setup and added a movie collection of 129 movies and let them finish scanning first. I then pulled the power and ran each test.
The timings listed are from a Cold Boot to the KODI Main Menu.
Pi B+: openELEC 5.0.1 for Raspberry Pi build
Test 1: 32.86 seconds
Test 2: 31.73 seconds
Test 3: 31.19 seconds
Pi 2: openELEC 5.0.1 for Raspberry Pi-2 build
Test 4: 13.92 seconds
Test 5: 13.39 seconds
Test 6: 13.35 seconds
Wow for both of you! Mine is arriving today, exited of testing it! SOund good, cant wait until a real optimized version of rasplex is out to fully take benief of the new extra power.
Checked the Facebook page for Rasplex and it seems the Rasplex team weren't quick enough at ordering... it says they won't have them for weeks. Sounds like the performance boost will be significant, so that's great, but I wouldn't hold your breath for a release (if the FB page is correct)

Delivery dates vary in different parts of the world. I checked some of the shops here in Sweden and they expect to have their first RPi2 units in stock by next wednesday (Feb 11).

Best regards: dlanor
Not true, most shop already got them in stock and several had them on release date, i've already got mine from Inet Data.
I ordered another one yesterday because I did want a second unit in the future. It arrived 5 minutes ago, Element14 in Australia... you have game.
I actually feel kinda selfish given that I got same day delivery from element 14 but have never used linux in my life. yet the reason i bought it (rasplex) cant even get a hold of a machine themself
Tried the new OpenELEC build yesterday and i can confirm, just like other ones here, the power boost compared to the old Pi is really great! No laggy menus, quick response everywhere. Guess that build isn't optimized to gain full access to the new cpu, memory etc. just built with a new kernel to get it boot of the new device. So a good release could just get even better. This is the mediacenter to stick with! Really enjoy looking forward for a rasplex release for this unit! Buy people!!
