When I update from .37 through Rasplex or format my SD card fresh to .38 I get a message while trying to boot that says something along the lines of error on line 49 cannot read file settings.conf. I've used windows tools to prep the SD cards. Has anyone experieced this issue?

My system crashed completely when upgrading through Rasplex. No issue after reflashing the image though.
More on this:
Noticed the same error message as you mentioned. Also the following problems:
- sluggish in the menus
- doesn’t find media server
- hangs completely when selecting rasplex settings under preferences
Will leave on for a couple of hours after restart and see what happen
