RasPlex and Samsung LE32B350F1W TV

Hi

I have installed RasPlex on my Pi, the installation works fine but I have an issue.

In fact, CEC doesn't work at all. I see the notification updater but no control from my TV remote.

I have tested the Pi in my main TV, a Sharp and it's work fine with the remote TV.

I have tested :

- with the current version of RasPlex and the experimental version.

- all HDMI ports

- just one HDMI cable (the other port is empty)

- boot the Pi, wait many minutes, and boot the TV

- boot the TV and boot the Pi

It doesn't work.

In the TV documention, CEC or Anynet doesn't appear, but online I have see this TV is CEC compatible.

Anyone has this issue ?

Have you any ideas ?

Thanks for your support

I'm afraid HDMI CEC is a very sketchy protocol.

Sometimes, especially with samsung tvs, the RPi has to be on a specific HDMI input.

It's really hard to debug this sort of problem I'm afraid.

It's not really the Pi's fault, or the TV's fault, the problem is that HDMICEC isn't fully ratified :(

Hi dale.hamel

Thanks for your answer. I'm sad about that.

Have you some remote models for Pi to advise me ?

Thanks

Hi,

I experience the similar issues. Not with rasplex but with PLEX Home theater. To me it works if I connect the Mac directly to HDMI1 at the Samsung-TV. (using pulse eight HDMI-CEC adapter since the mac does not support CEC out of the box)

However I want to 1. connect the mac to a AVR first and then to the SAMSUNG at HDMI2 connector. The reson for this is obvious I want to use my receiver and also want to use the ARC (Audio Return Channel) on my Samsung which is on HDMI2.

If I read XMBC posts it looks like there are settings in XBMC were you can set the HDMI input on the TV and also the virtual input on the AVR. Is it possible to find them in plex and modify manually perhaps?

I have a feeling that I would get it to work if I just could find the settings file.

The same would probably go for rasplex as well.

Or I am completely off here...?

Any ideas from all you brilliant people out there?

Hi,

I also had some Problems with this TV-Remote over HDMI-CEC. In my case i tracked it down to the HDMI-Cable! The one was a noname and with that it was not working. Then i used another which was a Amazon Basics HDMI-Cable and voila - it was a charm!

So make sure to check the HDMI-cable also!
